Athos Cuisine

Cam asa incepe minunata carte The Cuisine of the Holy Mountain Athos:

"Epiphanios of Mylopotamos, a monk of Mount Athos, after having lived for many years, at the Monastery of Saint Paul, decided in 1990 to continue his monastic life at the holy See of Saint Eustace in Mylopotamos, a property belonging to the Monastery of Megiste Lavra (the Greatest Lavra).

He had the good fortune of being taught the Byzantine chants by senior Paulite monks and became a skilled chanter; at the same time he devoted himself to the art of cookery. Today he is a well-known master chef.

At Mylopotamos, together with father Ioachim, he undertook the difficult task of restoring the historic monastic cell, giving it new life. At the same time, with utmost respect for the longstanding traditions and consistent with the principles of the elders, he planted a vineyard and built winery."
